Jessica believes that the best solutions to the problems we face today, and the ones we will face tomorrow, are those that utilize conservative, fiscally responsible principles. As your Representative, Jessica will fight to ensure common sense is made common again, and that our rural communities can offer a strong economic environment, robust educational opportunities, and the ability to achieve the American dream.
Faith
Like so many fellow Alabamians, Jessica’s Christian faith is what provides both strength and daily motivation to make a positive difference in the world. Faith is the foundation of our values, our families, and our communities. Jessica will fight to protect the right of every Alabamian to worship freely without interference from the government. Our country was founded on Religious Freedom and those same values should continue to guide our laws and our leaders.
Family
Blessed to grow up in a large, close-knit family of community-minded public servants, Jessica believes that strong families make strong communities, and we must support policies that keep families thriving in our rural communities. Our elected leaders should empower—not hinder—those raising the next generation. Jessica will advocate for parental rights in education and healthcare decisions. Faith and family values are essential to Alabama’s identity and part of what makes our state the “Sweet Home” that it is.
Freedom
Our freedoms are what make our state and our country exceptional, and they must be defended at all costs. From free speech to freedom of religion, our rights are under increasing pressure from government overreach, cancel-culture, and big-city liberals that do not understand rural life. Jessica will fight to protect our individual liberties while supporting law enforcement's ability to ensure law and order in our communities. True freedom means less government--not more.
Second Amendment
Jessica is an unapologetic supporter and defender of the Second Amendment and will be a fighter in Montgomery for the right of every law-abiding citizen to protect themselves and their families. Responsible gun ownership is part of our heritage and our way of life in Alabama. Jessica will oppose restrictions on our gun rights and will fight to keep firearms out of the hands of violent criminals.
Education & Workforce Development
Jessica fully supports parental involvement in education, increasing teacher pay, and refocusing our classrooms on reading, writing, math, and civics—not political agendas. Jessica will build career tech partnerships with industry and community colleges to prepare students for the workforce. Our students need a strong educational foundation to compete in today’s world, and that starts with high standards in the classroom. Jessica will work to ensure that every child in Alabama has access to a quality education, that schools are safe places, and that we let the amazing teachers in our state do what they do best–educating and preparing our children for college and career-readiness.
Immigration
We are a nation of laws, and immigration must be legal and secure. We must continue to support policies that stop the flow of deadly drugs and illegal trafficking into our communities. Jessica supports legal immigration, where people coming to our county for a better life contribute positively to our economy, not burden it. Sanctuary cities and open borders without legal processes put Alabama families at risk, and she will stand firmly against them.
Jobs & Economic Development
Jessica will focus on issues that matter to people’s daily quality of life and their pocketbooks. We need quality job opportunities that entice people to live and work in our rural communities. From industrial development to eco-tourism, Jessica will build upon her strong working relationships with businesses, industry, and local officials to recruit new opportunities for economic development. Jessica will cut taxes on small businesses and entrepreneurs in order to drive economic growth in Southwest Alabama. She will also ensure that any tax incentive deals require community investment from industry, provide quality jobs for the people of our community, and preserve the qualities that make living in a rural area so enjoyable.
Protecting Rural Healthcare
Rural hospitals provide life-or-death resources for our citizens. Jessica will prioritize protecting rural hospitals by working with healthcare officials, hospital administrators, and community leaders to address financial challenges, sustainability, and access to quality healthcare in rural areas of Alabama.
